About this position
The Mayor is the chief executive officer of the municipality. They often preside over council meetings and may have the power to hire and fire heads of municipal departments.
Eligibility requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a registered voter
- Must be a resident of the district
- Must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, a resident of the municipality for at least one year, a registered voter in the municipality, without any financial obligations to the municipality, and without past felony convictions

No Filing Fee. Petition signature requirement: 5% of the total votes cast in district by political party in the last primary election for general assembly (party candidates); 2% of the total votes cast in the district in the last general election for general assembly (independent candidates)
